Looking to root and add ICS

Well looks like the OTA update might take forever so I think I'm ready to try and put a custom rom on it. Is this possible? Id use the phone as an everyday daily driver so to speak. I need detailed step by step directions if you can. Thanks

My best advice is to search here, there and everywhere. Read, reread and then read again. After you root use safe strap as it is the best way to switch rom's and keep your old stock system. Moto fail is the current root method. All the information and download links to root are here and ICS is around somewhere.
