I'm using a Sony Xperia Z3 and when I go into my front yard it tends to get out of range of my wireless router so it switched to LTE mobile data. It's not a big deal however when I come back into my house it detects the wireless network but just sits there saying "scanning" instead of connecting to it. Every time I have to tap the drop down under the WIFI icon and select the ONLY network in the list. My wifi network is saved in the phone settings. Is there any way to make the phone automatically reconnect to WIFI? I've tried a few apps on the android play store but so far nothing has solved this annoying issue.

You need to be root. try delete all saved WiFi configs and starting from scratch.

Try shutting down your phone and WIFI. Turn on your WIFI. When your WIFI is up, turn your phone on. If it auto connects you should be fine.
