Lock/power button not working all of a sudden

Yeah, so the title basically. Holding it down, tapping it a few times does not turn the screen off or on. And so i cant get to the power off, sleep, etc. menu either. I'm rooted but that wouldn't be the cause of this. I'm running stock OTA ICS.

Any help on this or should i try to get a replacement?

What happens if you hold the volume down and then the power button for ten seconds? Does it do a hard reset?

never thought a hard reset would've fixed it but it did. haha

so same problem here but hard reset wont correct my problem.... any suggestions?
