Not sure why this worked. But i went into clockwork and reset battery stats and my phone has never ran this long on the battery. Usually after 8 hours of work and phone usage i need to recharge and im at 20% left. After reseting the stats i am at 50% left going on 13 hours of use including an hour of pandora and two hours of PE :).

Essentially the same as a power cycle. The phone has to relearn the charge points on the battery in both cases.

How exactly did you do the reset? In nandroid? or in Clockworkmod? or in the system itself.

Reboot into clockwork and its under advanced I believe. I did it on a full charge, don't know if that makes a difference.

is there any harm in this? what exactly does it mean when the phone has to relearn the charge points of the battery?

Your phone is smart, but the battery is dumb. When the battery voltage hits a certain point the phone reads it as "full", etc. However, when the phone gets topped up it doesn't always report full correctly, and the net result is an early "full" charge. The phone translates this, over time, into incorrect charge points. 100%, 90%, 80%, etc. When you force the phone to relearn these points you get a more correct charge -- in other words, a fuller charge. This means more battery life. :)

I have had battery issues for some time now. It got to the point that I had to buy another battery, and a wall charger also to swap when the other dies, I have a backup. Over the weekend I ran this, clearing the stats.. Today I have barely used the phone (read and sent aprox 5-7 txts) was at 100% at 8:30am, by 3pm, it was at 10%. Then, get this, I get in the car shortly after 3pm, plug it in, and about 15 minutes later I am at 70%... This is a big issue.. Who really knows what the true battery level is? this is annoying..

I'm assuming you're rooted, so I have to ask are you overclocking? Have you cleared your Dalvik cache recently?
