You need to type the scripts. Start with $su [enter ] this will give you a #, then type the script. Example # blockads [enter ]

Yes, you can flash the ROM using update.zip method in SPRecovery but I HIGHLY encourage you to follow the instructions with regard to wiping these partitions:

    Data
    Cache
    System
    Boot

If you do not wipe these partitions then you may run into problems. This isn't a hypothetical situation...this is from personal experience and flashing hundreds of ROMs. Will you have a problem if you don't wipe them all? No, not necessarily "this" time.

Wiping the partitions provides you with a fresh start. I first discovered that this was necessary when loading ROM after ROM and only wiping the Data and Cache partitions each time. I got to a point where no matter what ROM I loaded, I was boot looping. I flashed different ROMs, multiple times to try and get it up and running....without luck. I found a post on one of the forums discussing how to format the partitions in SPRecovery and gave it a shot. Success! I continued to NOT format the System and Boot partitions until I loaded a ROM that was downright buggy! No one else seemed to be having the same problems that I did so I reflashed the ROM and continued to have problems. Take a guess what happened when I formatted all of my partitions and reloaded that ROM again... ;)

I don't flash a ROM without wiping the Data, Cache, System, and Boot partitions...I just don't.

The instructions for installing this ROM specifically say to use Clockwork Recovery. That is because Clockwork has the ability to let you format the partitions with a menu driven format (usually more noob friendly). If you have ADB setup on your computer you can use SPR by doing the following:

    - Boot into recovery
    - Connect your droid to your computer
    - Bring up your command prompt

Type the following (pressing enter after each line of text):
    Code:
    adb shell
    format DATA:
    format SYSTEM:
    format CACHE:
    format BOOT:
You HAVE TO use all caps for the names of the partitions ;)

If you don't want to follow the instructions...that's cool. No one is twisting your arm. If someone asks me for help, my first question to you would be:
"Did you format your partitions (all 4 of them)?"

If you say "yes" but you really didn't...most likely your problem will never be fixed...

Will this fix every problem? No, but it eliminates so many possible problems that you'd be making a big mistake by not doing it. Just my opinion but ultimately, it's your phone :D

You have to download Android SDK to get ADB

    Android SDK | Android Developers

There are instructions there to get it all setup

Anybody know if this rom includes the ability to search through the exchange mailbox? I have heard that this feature is possible on our Droid 1's. Can someone shed some light on this?
