I'm looking to pick up a note 3 once they ship. When that happens I'm thinking about taking my S3 to pageplus (no 4G) and would like to limit the data I use. The ideal would be to lock out everything except google voice from using any data from the cell phone company. The wifi will cover all the other data needs. Anybody know of a way to do this?

You can use a firewall app to prevent connectivity. I don't recall the name (maybe Droidwall?). Anyhow, you should be able to prevent connectivity with something like that.

I have reduced data use to nearly zero on my wife's S3 by telling all the apps not to do anything unless requested. That include mail, weather widgets and the like. It takes very little effort to open and check manually.
