Pay attention to what I am saying.....though cyanogen make roms for the droid he does MORE development for the HTC because he prefer HTC....if you want roms and roms and roms then go htc because that is gonna be where majority of the development will go because they Cyanogen's kernel will not work on the newer droids. And with every d1 update they are now updating the bootloader. Go to cyanogens forum and you will see a small section for the droid and for HTC devices it has a much larger section and more discussions.

Maybe you're not understanding what I'm saying. You ABSOLUTELY need to modify the kernel to change the version of the os (ie froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb)...you cannot (nor can any android dev) change your os version without a kernel upgrade. Show me one true gingerbread rom for the d2. It doesn't exist because you cannot change the kernel. Theming is not the same as having a different os. Adding features to froyo is not a new os. When motorola stops supporting your phone (soon) development ends. Denying that won't change that fact. And as I mentioned there is zero chance that moto is going to support the d2 for two years. Denying that won't change anything either...

Apple prevented it or potential sales prevented it?
Windows phone came to ATT first, Galaxy class hit ATT before the fascinate hit Verizon, Blackberry Torch is on ATT. Maybe it's iPhone related, maybe not ,but your choices on ATT are more now than a year ago.

Seriously! There's some decent ones out there (e.g. Sense), but there's nothing on any UI that I prefer to vanilla. If every device was vanilla, id be ecstatic! Why can't manufacturers simply put there own apps on devices and leave it at that?

I had an iPhone 3G and I always wanted a removable battery. Now that I have one with my Droid 1 I've come to like and hate it.

Battery life has always been better for me on my iPhone then my Droid, with the Droid I can't even have my phone on for half a day without the battery going dead. I've tried several things posted here without luck, with my iPhone I got 24+ hours of use without it dying.

The battery door is also a major pain. I keep my phone in my pocket, so if I grab my phone upside down the battery door always opens and I have to put it back on. And when I drop the Droid the case and battery fall out, when I dropped the iPhone nothing happened.

Saw a blurb that AT&T had 5 Android devices last year and this year they will have 12. Now, they aren't "losing" the IPhone, they'll still be selling it, so it must come as a shock to some people that people actually do choose Android over IPhone.
