I'm not sure if anyone else out there is experiencing "weird" app hangups, problems resuming from standby and other oddities without much connection. I finally switched LCD density back to stock (never changed it before trying liberty so not sure if this was to be expected) and almost all my issues went away. So if anyone else is out there in a similar buggy situation with non-stock density, you may want to change it back unless my setup was just a fluke.

I've changed my LCD Density settings and all ran fine, however, it is pretty common for ROMs to go wacky when you change these settings. And some ROMs flat-out claim they are 100% incompatible with non-standard LCD Density settings.
In your scenario, it could be your theme causing problems. What theme are you running? I run the UD theme and it has no problems (although after a couple days I did go back to stock for other reasons).
