The LG Lucid 4G is now official folks. The mid-tier device is set to launch on Big Red's network on March 29 with a very sexy $79.99 price tag attached. While the specs are nothing to write home about, they certainly are worthy of a mention. With an $80.00 price tag, the specs are a fantastic value:
    • Android™ 2.3 Gingerbread, upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
    • 5-megapixel rear-facing autofocus camera with flash and full HD (1080p) video capture
    • Front facing camera for video chatting with friends and family
    • Video Producer – create and edit HD videos right on Lucid by LG
    • 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM for fast Web browsing and multitasking
    • Virtual QWERTY keyboard with Swype® technology
    • SmartShare – share media with friends and colleagues wirelessly to DLNA®-enabled devices
This phone is set to directly compete with the Nokia Lumia 900, which comes in at a slim $99.00 on contract. Verizon's presser is below....

Wonder how the screen looks. If it has a decent screen that would be a very nice phone for $80.

What's the screen resolution? It's 4" so I'm guessing like qHD? Maybe 720p? I'm lost to how this is a "mid-tier" phone. Spec wise it's pretty much the same as the Galaxy Nexus, RAZR, ReZound, and Spectrum.

This might be the best bang for buck android phone we've seen in quite sometime. I'm curious to see popular this phone could become?

If that phone came out last spring on VZW it would have flown off of the shelves at $299! lol

It's a WVGA screen (480x800) and I suspect the dual core 1.2GHz CPU is based on the Cortex A8 and not the A9. Right now, pretty much any sub-qHD device is considered "mid-tier"- but nowadays "mid-tier" isn't necessarily a bad thing, in this case it could mean a nice fast device at a great price.
