LED colors

My son upgraded to the MAXX a couple of weeks ago. He called me this morning with a question that I do not know nor can I find the answer for. His phone is stock, hardly any apps and no games. He is getting three different LED colors.....red, purple and of course green. Does anybody know what the red & purple are for?

I am not sure on the purple, but red could be for SMS. Does he have any notifications showing in the notification bar?

Red i get on low battery. Blue which is really dark which im geussing is the purple you describe is email. Green for notifications or texts. Off the top of my head i think is how mine displays it

I get green for everything as far as messages and emails go, and I haven't seen red for a low battery as I haven't let it drop that low. Can the colors be set using the stock setup under ICS?
