I installed LauncherPro from the UD menu, now I cannot update from the market and cannot uninstall.

Not through app manager, file managers (tried God mode), or by deleting it.

Any ideas?

Or.......deal with no LP updates until UD9 drops and reinstall from market?

if it's a system app for UD, you'll need to delete it thru Term Emu or Root Explorer. or, you can do it the "manual" way by going into the rom zip, deleting it, and then reflash the rom zip.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Thanks.

Turn on god mod, then go into root explorer. Find the system folder then go into the app folder, inside system folder. Scroll down and find launcher pro app, long press on it and click delete. Should take care of it.

Its under the main UD, Ultimate Settings at the very top under Quick Commands , then there is File Management hacks and the only option in that is God mode. Click it and there ya go. It allows you to temporarily edit any files on the phone.

You can do it thru Term Emu by:

su
sysrw (to turn system into read write instead of read only)
rm /system/app/launcherpro.apk (to remove from system apps)
sysro (to turn read only back on)
reboot (must manually type or the script wont take)

Or if you have root explorer, make sir you press the" mount r/w" button to allow you to change system configuration. You also have to reboot to make it take, as well.

I tried following those steps, but it is telling me that "rm failed for /system/app/launcherpro.apk, No such file or directory"

Try Launcher2.apk. Be sure to have an alternative launcher installed first.

I did, that did not work either. I ended up having to reinstall UD 1.0. I had install pandahome and tried to delete the Launcherpro.apk using AndExplorer. The only problem was that PandaHome isn't a good enough Home Launcher, because my phone would not get past the bootanimation.
After a little research, I found out I need to of installed ADW Launcher instead of PandaHome per Market apps won't update (Launcher Pro, Google Search, etc...) - Ultimate Droid. So, after I rerooted it with UD 1.0, I then installed ADW Launcher, uninstalled LauncherPro using AndExplorer, rebooted and was able to download LauncherPro from the market and was in business.

Uninstall LauncherPro

Install LauncherPro from the marketplace, then uninstall it. Even tho it's already on your phone, marketplace won't detect it and will allow you to install it.

The app is gone from my phone after I did this.

Good luck.
