launch app instead of website

I was wandering if there is a way, when in the browser and clicking a link to a website for which I have an app, to set the phone up to automatically launch the app rather than access the website.

I don't believe you can specify unique URLs to open different apps. I know you can tell the phone to pick a particular browser or other app, but it will use that browser or app for every URL.
