    Berzerker,

Thanks. It is all a little confusing, this parallel or colaberated development. I checked the Greeks pages and there was nothing new there. I thought the plan was for him to keep everything current with "his" rom there, so I thought that perhaps this was something new as a base. So, do you know whether Sholes is gonna be the final word, compiling the latest/bestest/unbugged roms from the combined efforts of the Alldroid gang? And I do understand that some of the players are involved with all three sites. I think I need a program with all of the players, their numbers, and what positions the play:icon_eek:.

Sholes.info is mainly going to be the place for new sprecovery images, and breakthroughs with new ROMs. Actual fixes are going to be of course jacked and have credit taken like this person Greek35T from alldroid. All he did was steal the ROM from the Sholes.info team and applied his own fixes. We're mostly about breaking news, he's mostly for fixing, but we're doing fixes also. My suggestion is to check both.

Glitches appear to be about the same, I also had a bit of FCs on 0.0.41, as well as this. So it seems about the same overall to me.

Trust me, I am checking here, there and everywhere before I commit to a Rom. I don't have any dogs in the fight of who did what to whom, but I can say that the gang at Sholes seems the most "professional" with regard to dissemination of information. As I posted, Alldroid confuses the heck out of me as to what is going on. What I do know is that there is a rush to get breakthroughs or changes on this board, and there are way too many folks here who do not even understand that everything is still beta.

Okay. I have searched with no luck. I have successfully installed this new rom. Problem is I lost root access doing the install the easy way. Does anybody know why or how to fix it. I can boot into recovery still using android recovery but my phone will not allow su access. Any suggestions?

Sadly, no root. It's the deal breaker for me. Otherwise I LOVE it!

    Rooting is pretty easy.

Just copy over the su binary from http://magicandroidapps.com/su.zip to /system/bin/ and chmod it to 6755. =]

    Step-by-step instructions:
    1. reboot into recovery.
    2. using the recovery menus, mount /system
    3. through adb, push the su binary from http://magicandroidapps.com/su.zip to /system/bin/
    4. chmod su to 6755
    Code:
    chmod 6755 /system/bin/su
    5. unmount /system
    6. reboot!

    Worked like a charm thanks!

Only issue I have is very seldom it doesn't want to swipe screens/click. I have to click home or the dots at the bottom. No biggie.

Before you take the plunge, make sure to get nandroid installed and back-up your system to your sd card.
That should eliminate the risk of trying out custom rom's.

Put 2.1 on my Droid and so far it's cool, but there are some issues.

-Battery will only charge to 60%
-Battery was drained down to yellow in 8 hours

0n 2.0.1 my battery would charge to 100% and last me a good 20+ hours. Might have to switch back to 2.0.1 for battery life.

ok now that it up and running, do we have anybody that is working on optimizing it? i was also wondering if we are going to start using the update.zip format anytime soon. works better for minor updates i think. it also requires less wipes.
