Lag?

I got my droid aexactly a week ago, and when i did i gotta say i was the happiest person alive at the moment i didnt even pay attention to the girl i was wit for the rest of the day lol...anyways i dunno if its lagging, everything opens up quick, i touch and it opens, when i press the power/lock button it doesnt turn on instant, it takes bout a second, is this normal? or am i overreacting due to previous defective fones> lol

It's normal. I think it's that way so it's not accidentally turned back on.

it used to be faster before the update in december. has to do with how the sensor sees light. it has to work to dim the screen up to the correct brightness level and doing so seems to issue a lag.

before the update, it seems the display just turned on to whatever brightness the phone was at previously.
