Anyone having trouble updating to Kitkat every time I try on both my phones it stops at about 30% then tells me update failed. Any ideas what problem is?

Welcome to the Forum.

Are both your phones stock or have they been rooted?

A typical reason for the update failure is KK looks for any changes in the OS. If it detects any the OTA update will fail. On the about phone screen does it say normal or custom?

On the Droid x2? What version are you on now?

Was it your phone or did you buy used? Had it ever been rooted or flashed?

Droidxforums.com is our sister site and has lots of links and tutorials for manually updating etc.

Ah... Never mind then. This has happened to a ton of people. Reflash 4.1.2 then update...

RSD Lite. There should be tutorials on this site and the Web. I'm at work and can't currently pull up all the links.

No, flashing will just return the device to 100% stock out of the box. It will allow the phone to update and will not void any warranties or things like rooting.
