Question...coming from 0.7.0...to wipe or not to wipe? That is the question. :)

I remember the tweet we got from him said we need to wipe. Not sure if things have changed between then and now

I wiped anyway just because it seems safer. I just wish there was an easy way to get titanium reinstalled after a wipe/new rom without having to setup my gmail account and going into the market. In any case, I've got all my apps restored. Setting up my home pages now. So far, this is outstanding! The speed is incredible.

Yes it is. :) This rom, however, is quite stable and is working GREAT with my setcpu settings. I've not had one issue at ALL since installing this one! I haven't gotten through everything just yet. I haven't checked wired and wifi tethering, for example, but, I've got everything else set up and rocking no problem. I'm very, very pleased.

Question about kernels

Hello all

Noobie here, recently rooted to Sapphire 0.8.4 (LOVING IT BY THE WAY!), and I saw on the web site http://sapphire.cvpcs.org/wiki/ reference to the new kernals, and from what I gathered they have something to do with overclocking the processor. It was also mentioned that 7x1000 kernel was included, I'm assuming that it was included with sapphire 0.8.4 update. I see that my installed kernel on my phone is 2.6.32.9-P3Droid. Is that the 7x1000 kernal?
Now if I install one of the other kernels from P3Droid, is there anything else I need? Looks like each kernel has different speed settings, if so, how do I access that on my phone? Is there another app that I need to change my clock speeds?

I also noticed while typing this message that I can't seem to get onto the cvpcs.org/wiki site using the link http://sapphire.cvpcs.org/wiki/? Is their site down?

Thanks. :blackdroid:

Yes the ROM comes with that 7x1000 kernel preinstalled...if you want to switch you can download the kernel of choice and flash it through sprecovery or clockwork (your preference) and it will replace the kernel that comes with Sapphire.

The app you're looking for is SetCPU this will let you change the OC settings and also set up profiles so that it will adjust automatically under certain conditions.

I have a question about downloading a Sapphire kernel from p3droid's site. It says "must use correct recovery link," but I only see 1 link for each kernel. I want to install the LV 125-1200 kernel using SPRecovery. I just have to download it with this link (http://www.p3designs.info/sapphire/p3droid-0.32.9-7-LV-1200.zip), but it on my SD card, rename to updatre.zip and following SPRecovery process, right? That link will work with SP?

For those of you whom are interested...this was posted on twitter a couple hours ago:

"cvpcs For those who don't know, new droid kernel spread w/ fixed cpu temp is avail here (beta): http://bit.ly/94xeg7 should work w/ any rom. "

I just installed the sholes_sapphire_7x125-1000LV.zip kernel. So far so good.

Why not post this in the most up to date thread for 0.8.4? This was named that b/c at the time p3 had just finished his kernels for sapphire.

OK...my bad.

Would a MOD kindly move or delete this? I would be happy to place it in a thread that is more fitting.
