NOTE: 5/31/11 - Links removed, superseded by this new batch: Gingerbread/Froyo Kernels

I was not happy with the performance of the last set (5/21) so I have rebuilt using a different toolchain - tbone73 has tested and said they work much better (he only tested one - but that should be indicative of the whole set). Please let me know. Many of you complained about higher battery usage, as well as higher temps - this should cure that.

In addition - ext2 and tun are external modules again - this means that using the current version of Chevy Tools you won't be able to enable them. But, in terminal, you should be able to enter

    insmod /system/lib/modules/ext2.ko

    or

    insmod /system/lib/modules/tun.ko

to enable them. Next ROM these will be selectable again in Tools.

This, THIS works really well! I don't know what kind of dark magic you're using Chevy-- your work is awesome. THANK YOU! :D

Unrelated - but is there an easy way to change the honeycomb slider's color on 5.3?

60% at bedtime. 60% when I woke up.

Standby Temps in the 50's (F).

Browsing flash sites - low 100's

Smooth as usual. I could get used to this! dancedroid

Cool - were you experiencing high temps before on the 5/21 kernels?

I'm ruining 800 ULV now with max at 800. So far it seems much cooler. And I was having heat problems before.
I think you have done it. I did hit 51C on CPU but I was pushing hard with browser and flash.
    It cooled pretty quickly.
I need to test more but it's looking much better.
I haven't tried compcache off. But correct me if I'm wrong, turning it off should reduce CPU load therefore cooler?

Great, thx for the feedback - and technically, I would agree - if compcache is off, it's using less of the cpu, although theoretically less useable ram ...

I don't understand how temps can be below ambient? It's around 70 in my house, how can CPU temp go lower than that?

Compcache just doesn't work for me no matter what rom I've tried. It just seems to bog down my phone. I do use v6 supercharger and swapper2 cache partition when needed. Other than that just a faster kernel seems to do the trick for me.

Mine are ruining about 10F above ambient. I've seen a few posts that say super low temps. Like 50's. How can that be?

Maybe the temp sensor is off?

Well I suppose it really depends on how low the ambient was for that person! Here in Maine for example - ambient in the evening is low 40's ... so that is possible.
