There are people here to help you with any problems. Read all you can and I suggest you only freeze bloatware rather than deleting it.

Yes, when you rooting follow every method or step. if you skip some it will surely get your phone brick.

What all will rooting do exactly? Just freeze up the bloatware I don't want running?

I strongly suggest you play with your Bionic for a while in order to see what you like and dislike about it. Then think about rooting. It's much easier than in the days of the OG Droid, but people can make mistakes. If you do decide to root, if you have a problem, give as much detail as you can. If you do that, it's easier to come up with a solution.

I planned on learning the phone a little bit, not exactly sure what I have to learn though
