I would check out the D2 theme, Alternate Black Theme, or my favorite Evo Theme.

Depending on your rom, look from there.

I usually recommend CyanogenMod ROMs to newbies, as it is the closest to stock but also has the stability, speed, and features of UD and BB.

If you using CM6, I recommend the Evolution theme, or Fichdak's Minimalist/Incognito rom. If you want to use Ultimate Droid roms, check out blackdroidmod.com. I have ported over Fichdak's theme, and there is a port of the Evolution theme..

    when i rooted, i used motocache's method:

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/74028-root-droid-1-regardless-os-version.html

i assume it is stock 2.2 with superuser access unlocked. im not really looking to go down the avenue of custom roms, if themes aren't available as independent add-ons to the OS or if i can change the colors/transparency via a terminal window, then i would stick with what i have....

I'm sure if you search for it on the forums you will find it... or just google it... I did the same thing as you and am looking for a theme that fully works and I actually like
