I'm a noob again... I haven't done any research on this in a long time.

I have the original droid, and it was rooted. Whats the easiest way to get rooted, and back to installing roms again?

z4 root should work for you. Do you have it on your SD?

Here's the apk(http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EW90WUQN) for you. Just put it on the root of SD card and use Astro or any file manager app to load onto droid and one click should root ya...Mighthave totry a couple times as its common that it does not fully go thru all the time the 1st time..

Z4Root does not work on 2.2.1.

Try link one in my signature.

    Having trouble in SPRecovery.
    When i run: Install/sdcard/update.zip (depricated)

    I get an error:
    E:update.zip install blocked
    Installation aborted.

    Any help?

    Edit: Got it working.

I used the links that guidot provided on mine a few days ago and was rooted in like 5 minutes. I try and stay away from those one click solutions.

Definitely was a hell of a lot easier than when I did it on the original (this one was a replacement) which too about 2 hours since I did to do everything manually.

Gives you just the right amount of information without just letting you click one button.
