    At about 9:00 P.M. on July 13 I had a chat with a VZW rep, via their chat window on their site. Here is the conversation. (I wonder if I was talking to a computer? :rofl3:) I copied and pasted it here.

    ray: just checking for the droid x, LOL

    Rachael: I would be happy to answer your questions about the X!

    Rachael: It will be available tomorrow night at midnight EST.

    ray: okay thanks for the info. will you ship so customers will have it on friday?

    Rachael: Yes, overnight shipping would be available for receipt on Friday.

    I had a similar conversation over the phone with a local VZW store who will be shipping my X for delivery on Friday.

    Like most call centers, I'm sure they have macros for 1-clicking greeting/closing, and scripts that are also likely macro'd for common questions. I don't think when you call you're speaking to a :motdroidvert:.

    I have a droid with 2yr contract. and other 2 lines under my name are all elgible upgrade.
    so I went to VZW store today for asking alternate upgrade and a sales rep said he can order mine on thursday and I can get it on friday at the door.
    all I have to pay is $35 restocking fee and I get a droid X and my droid will be a free contract phone.
