Hey guys. I recently put CM7 on my wife's Droid 1. It was the latest stable build, 7.0.3. I installed through Rom Manager and I wiped. Both Handcent and the stock messaging app are acting screwy now. Both constantly force close and whenever she receives a new text, it only shows in the notification bar. Meaning, once she opens the text to read it, it is no longer there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd try reinstalling the rom through rom manager again. If that doesn't work, install it through recovery. Rom manager is is known to have issues.

I always choose to install through recovery rather than let a toolbox or a rom manager do it auto style. I seem to have less issues that way

Ok thanks. One more question. I'm used to working on a Droid 2. Does flashing a ROM work the same way? Place on root of SD, wipe data and cache, install zip from SD?

Ok thanks guys. Maybe my wife will let me near her phone now. It took me over a year to get her to let me root it lol.

Turn off the stock messaging app from giving notifications unless you get double. You could potentially also delete the stock messaging app, however by doing this you lose the capability to send mms messages. I rarely send mms messages, however each user is different.
