Picked one up used for $300 (Verizon). Screen is pristine, and the back is scratch free as well. The doofus selling it would have to drop it while getting out of his car at the McDonald's where I was meeting him. The Aluminum frame got nicked a bit but for $300 who's complaining?

I was able to smooth out the nicks so they are almost undetectable in the hands.

We got one for my wife on Sunday. The screen is so super sharp and clear. Even though it's much smaller than the 6P/Note screens I've grown accustomed to, it's a very nice picture. I haven't heard any major complaints, so I'm sure she's loving it.

And I'm loving the fact that I have the Note 4 as a spare instead of her old S3. ;)

Well I got this because it was part of a two phone purchase. My son dropped his Maxx in the toilet (yes, toilet), on Tuesday, so I bought him a used Turbo 2 for $200 (also in pristine condition). The guy just happened to have the S7 and wanted $350 for it so I told him to bring it. When he showed the scuffs to me I told him I'd give him $300 and he took it! Fortunately it fell on the back, so the scuffs are only on the back and not really detracting from the appearance of the phone. So, Turbo 2 and S7 for $500.

My plan is to use the S7 for the Gear VR.

One thing I do like about the Samsung phones over the Motorolas is that Samsung uses a much faster vibrator, which feels in the hand more like a tuning fork than a vibrator.

Yeah. Very nice deal. We're on the payment plan for the wife's S7 & that alone cost more than you got 2 great phones for.

Unless you've used both, you wouldn't know what I'm referring to. On my Droid Turbo 2 (as was with previous Motorola phones), the haptic feedback which is produced by the vibrator motor feels like a short bump and is somewhat unpleasant,. In comparison the haptic feedback on the S7 feels like a short bust of high frequency vibration not unlike that which is felt when holding a tuning fork that is vibrating. It's more of a "note" than a vibration. Same holds true for vibrate on ring where the Turbo feels like a lower frequency vibration whereas with the Samsung Galaxy S7 (and earlier Samsung phones), it feels more musical than vibratory.

Here's a picture of the actual motor in the S7, and an example of what the vibration motor looks like inside.

Notice it's round and flat. They're often called coin motors.

By contrast here's the motor in the Turbo 2.

These motors look more like the traditional motor where the shaft extends through the motor casing and in the case of vibration motors has an offset weight on the shaft which creates the vibration. It's this traditional motor configuration which makes the vibration so pronounced, whereas the coin motors spin faster and so they feel less like vibration and more like a resonating hum.

Thanks all. I really do the research to appease my own burning desire for knowledge and to understand what makes things tick, and when I post it's so that others who may have similar yearning can hopefully get some enjoyment and satisfaction.
