Update popped up. I do not want it right now. Will it ever pop up without me being active on the phone and download by itself? Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen? Really worried about losing foxfi. Thanks

Same way I flashed .215 then. Is there one out there yet for the update?

Will it cause issues in the future?

Do i need to go back to .211?

Are you sure that they're gone? Perhaps they've changed the card naming convention and they're still on the system. It's highly unlikely that any pushed udpate would wipe the internal user's storage. The reason is just what the reaction you had is.

BTW, my wife's phone is in the middle of the DL, shows "Download suspended. Will resume shortly..."

Mine is rooted, so I just installed VOODOO OTA Rootkeeper and protected and temp-unrooted. Let's see if I get it too.

Edit: Oops, forgot I'm on .215... Time to do a roll-back to .211. For those who need to do this, visit http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/4654-droid-razr-utility-182-windows-for-verizon-droid-razr-and-droid-razr-maxx-only/ to download the most recent version of Matt L Groff's DROID RAZR Utility, do the flash to .211, then root, then download and install Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, protect, then temp-unroot, then you're good to go.

DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT DATA FIRST!!!

I go not my albums and it shows 100 pics of random things I had and that's it. I looked at my storage and it says I only have 123 mb of pics and videos. What else would they name it? I'm furious right now that's a year of memories I've lost.

I am running a non-rooted phone and I have noticed some bugs. Not too bad though. Hopefully they will fix some of the bugs. Although 4.2 is supposed to fix the bugs on 4.1 lol. I know this because I have a nexus 7 and it runs on 4.2 which is a lot smoother with no bugs, unlike what I've experienced so far on 4.1 on the RAZR Maxx

You can wait for the sideload if you want, but I recommend you go back to .211 stock using the RazrUtility...that's what I am going to do. I always prefer to start a new system version with the official OTA...then go from there. But, thats only my preference.

    How to pull the update (from Matt L Groff);

    Quote
Instructions for pulling an OTA update.zip:
    • Do NOT install the update! Do these first!
    • Be rooted. Option 2 in the DROID RAZR Utility works best.
    • Download the Root Explorer app, or the ES File Manager app. (Instructions are for Root Explorer.)
    • Open Root Explorer and go to the ~/cache/ directory, which resides on the root directory of the phone '~/'
    • Hit the 'Mount R/W' in the corner, if successful will then say 'Mount R/O'
    • Copy the update file .zip from the ~/cache/ to your sdcard, external to be safe. External is in ~/mnt/external1/ and Internal is ~/sdcard/.
    • Copy over the update file .zip from the sdcard(s) you chose to your computer and upload it.
    • You will want to use Voodoo's OTA Rootkeeper before updating. See the above post for how.
    • Send me or post a link here to the update and exactly what System Version you were on, and where the update takes you to.
    • The community will thank you for your help! [IMG]

We have 2 RAZR MAXXs at our house and they both show "download suspended. Will resume shortly...". Says the download is 0%. Neither of us got any kind of update notification, which is weird. This has been going on for a couple of hours.

Damn. Gotta go back to .211 first.

Have you tried plugging your phone into your computer and exploring your files that way? To see if they've been moved or something? Search your entire phone for .jpg and see if they come up.

If your pictures actually got deleted... try downloading TuneUp Utilities for your computer. It has a Recovery program built into it. I've recovered plenty of files that have been previous deleted on my hard drive with this, even from years ago, because nothing really ever stays deleted forever unless you go through the right motions. So, you could USB hook up your phone to your computer, then try running the Recovery option for your phone's hard drive. See if you get any pics back. I've done it before. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
