So you're saying the update didn't break root?

Did you temporarily unroot in OTA root keeper before installing the update?

I received the OTA today and I've never tried to root my phone. So far, it feels pretty cool! Don't know a whole lot about Google now. Will have to wait and see.

So much for not talking about it as a soak tester.

Just got the OTA, stock. Not exactly running as smooth as I hoped but do see some things I like.

I also just got the OTA JB update. Very smooth update, no problems. Quadrant score actually went up to 3066 from a previous best of 3000 with ICS. Things generally seem a bit faster and smoother. I especially like the fact that voice-to-text no longer requires a data connection. Thanks Google and Motorola for making this happen!

Loving the update. Apps run smoother and a bit quicker. Love the notification bar set as well. Now when the phone is connected to my cars stereo via Bluetooth I can see whats playing on the head unit. Only Custom ROMS did that for me before. Lost root though, I am sure that will be worked out shortly.

Updated today and had no problems!! Loving this update! This keeps getting better for the same phone! If technology can do this for THIS phone, how many other phones do you think they could have done this for too but just didn't? I understand company need to make money, but the fact there were over 70 new phones just last year, is crazy! That's more than 1-2 a WEEK!! I hope they slow down all these models and just update the ones they have like this.

Is the ota random throughout the day or just overnight? Was part of ics soak test bit not this one. I hope this is a great update for this device. Due for upgrade in may but would prefer to hold out until fall when my contract is up. If next iphone can talk amd surf i am gone. Otherwise going to have to chose next phone carefully. Since moving to vzw in 08, I've had bb storm, bb storm 2 and bionic. I am due for an awesome device experience!

Did anyone with JB OTA update from today notice any improvement in battery life, data connectivity and voice connectivity? Moto/VZW promised improvements in these areas.

It takes time for a device to settle into new software, give it a few days before taking anyone's word for battery life improvement.

I used the downloaded Torrent Zip and it installed with no problem. I uninstalled SafeStrap 3.11 first then went to recovery to install. Everything working fine and was able to get root back with OTA Rootkeeper.
I've been running some JB based Roms so was fairly familiar with the features. Nice and smooth compared to ICS.;);)
Now I just need to reinstall Safestrap and continue.

Overall I'm quite liking the JB update. I especially like the "avoid weak wifi connections" option, that should help a lot with the battery life. Also, I've noticed that the buzz/whine when you plug in headphones seems to be gone. Can anyone else confirm that they fixed that?
