Now that the iPad has been jailbroken...

How hard would it be to make an Android ROM for it? Is it even possible?

I'm not skilled in such things so I have no idea what it would take. So, I figured I'd ask the gurus.

Well the first step would be getting the Android OS on there since I don't believe that's what they use. If you can get that on there then it wouldn't be hard.

I know we are a Android forum, but you should try to ask an iPad forum for this answer. They would know more about what the iPad can and can't do.

it's more of an engineering question... both the iphone/ipad uses an arm chipset. iphone os is based on bsd with iphoneos as the ui (similar to droid using linux as the base os with android as the ui on top of that). both droid and iphone/ipad shares the same core in their chipsets so yes it is possible. however, i do not know if the iphone development/hack community has access to flash partitions on the device like we do (when we flash boot.img, recovery, etc). linux would also need device drivers for the rest of the ipad chips and devices for it work (ie: touch pad driver, sound driver, display driver, wifi driver, etc) also, no one but apple has the source to iphoneos so it'll be very difficult to get answers. conversely we have source to android and linux and a ton of documentation on how it's all supposed to work (hence we have so many manufacturers that are able to produce hw for the platform)
