For the past few months I've watched as my Google calendar entries repeatedly disappear! I've searched the Google discussion groups and it is very evident that Google does not give a Rat's A** about fixing this problem.:icon_evil:

I found people complaining about this same issue a year ago and out of hundreds of complaints I came across 2 responses from Google. Neither of which was very useful.

I have no problem paying for a calendar program as long as the damn thing works and keeps my appts and events!

Anyone got an other solutions? I need to be able to sync between cloud computing calendars (mine and hubby's) and our phones!

How hard can it be?? Apparently it's beyond the scope of what Google can do and I'm tired of waiting on them to fix the problem or hell even just respond more than once a year!:icon_evil:

    Ideas???

No help here, but a statement.

I've been using Google calendar for years and have NEVER seen any of my entries disappear. Kinda strange, have you contacted Google?

Yes I've sent them a msg each time and never get a response. And apparently that is their method....a black hole for response.

Oh well, it would be awesome if some company were created solely for the purpose of providing stable calendars!! I'd pay for such a service and apparently so would a lot of other people from what I see in the discussion groups about this issue!

I haven't had any problems either, but if events are dropping off your calendar, I'd say that's a pretty critical error. You're acting like it's no big deal, funk.

Google Calendar has always been perfectly stable for me. I add or edit via the PC and Droid, it always syncs and never fails me. Sorry I couldn't help, just wondering what we are doing different that makes yours so unstable. I'm guessing the Google employees are scratching their heads too, and thus no resonse from them.

I use CalWidget on the Droid to combine both Google and Corporate calenders into one home screen widget. I also use Astrid synced to Remember the Milk for keeping track of tasks.

My first guess is that it's a sync issue but this happened when using my BB Storm and now the Droid. I had put in dates for this week and next and then yesterday I saw that most of my calendar has been wiped clean for the next two weeks. And then dates pick back up. I'm not deleting anything via the Droid and rarely set appts via the Droid. Usually just use it as a reference tool. I guess I could just bypass the entire Droid calendar and just use the web browse when I need to see the calendar and thereby remove the possibility of the sync issue.
It's quite maddening for this to keep happening and I'm not the only person experiencing it. There are a lot of similar stories over on the Google Calendar Help forums - what a misnomer eh? Anyway, thanks to all for various suggestions. I'll keep searching for a solution. Cheers,

It appears from what you're saying that your calendar isn't being "wiped clean." It appears that the calendar (on Google) is working fine but the view of the calendar on your Droid (via the "calendar" app) is problematic. Is that true?

If that is the case, the problem appears to be in the operation of the Droid calendar app and/or the data maintained on the Droid. If you have no already done so, I suggest that you do the following:

    Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Filter:All.

Then clear the cache and data from both the Calendar and Calendar Storage applications.

Then turn your phone off and back on.

If this is a continuing problem, I suspect it may be the result of corrupted data in some event/appointment that gets "synched" from your google calendar. If that's the case, it's likely that it is some event/appt in the past. You might try going into your google calendar on the web and deleting old appointments. (If that's a problem you can back up your calendar with those old events/appts by creating an offline version of the calendar to keep on your PC.)

Are you synching your google calendar with some other application's calendar such as Outlook? If so, that might be the source of corrupted data. If you are doing so, I'd suggest turning off that sync (after doing the steps above) until you can determine if the issue reappears.

You also mention that you and your spouse are sharing calendars. While my wife and I have no problem doing the same thing, you may want to stop doing so for awhile to see if the problem reappears. It could be that corrupted data is showing up in one calendar or the other or that transfer of data from multiple calendars to each of your droid's is problematic. If I were you I'd pay special attention if you also have individual calendars that are not shared.

Finally, as you examine your data, I suggest you pay special attention cases where events run for more than one day or two events overlap.

I know this sort of problem can be immensely frustrating. And it can be even more frustrating when it seems no one at Google is responding to your problem. But frankly, your problem has all the earmarks of corrupt data and that sort of issue is extremely difficult to diagnose in the abstract.
