so, i'm trying to root my stock 2.1 Moto Droid, but i keep failing. i've done everything up to renaming the file "update.zip"

when i go to install it, i get the error message that it can't be found. i've even tried to rename it as "update" and "update.zips" but nothing. do i need to extract the file or leave it as a zip file? i'm lost as to what i'm doing wrong and where.

i really want to root so i can overclock... any help would be greatly appreciated
