My internet sucks now and 4 g not always available as it used to
Also faster battery drain
Huge battery drain.
I get half the usage I got before.
Wasn't even aware there WAS an update, (wife's phone and she would have said something). Maybe that's good. Was it OTA?
Super slow 4G and faster battery drain. I've also had to do a battery pull once because I couldn't unlock my lock screen. Update was bad enough for a lot of people that they even reported it on droid-life.com
Yes it was an OTA, and YES the battery drain is real bad, also my alarm volume is real low, but no big deal for me, went back to my buttery smooth CM ROM.
Huge battery drain here too, but so far haven't noticed any other issues
I agree Lee, my GSM model (SGH-I717) hasn't received an update lately. It's still on Android 4.1.1.
yep total issues! verizon knows about it.
i have a new phone comming. a factory reset will NOT fix it either so dont bother unless verizon makes you do one to get a new phone
what idiots huh?
same here! and terrible battery now. ugh!
internetavenger - verizon will replace your phone for this issue? i have insurance, if that matters.
they sure will if its under warranty.
the first idiot i spoke to had me put in 2 new sim cards and still said it was the sim card and wanted me to drive 10 miles to a store to get a new one!!
the second guy said verizon knows about it and is shipping me out another phone.
Same., verizon said they will have to send out a new phone to fix the issues..should have mine tuesday.

Messed up my camera/gallery function. All my pictures were pushed to 'my files', the Gallery function doesn't work and any pics I take are randomly stored in different folder, weird! Anybody else get anything like this?
Sorry to say but your issues are not warranty issues, if that was the case everyone who received the latest update should get a new phone from Verizon, and we all know that is not going to happen, it is a software issue and will be corrected soon enough, no company in their right mind is going to replace hardware do to a bad software update, worse case scenario they will just shoot out the previous software that was on the hardware till new software is stable enough for public release, if what you guys are saying ever got out to the main stream public, Verizon upper management would have a fit, and many heads would roll.
They tried to do a hard reset on my phone yesterday and it would never come back on verizons network and show registration. Aftet this is when they decided to replace the phone under a "software" glitch. I don't think all phones are acting the same. 3 sim cards didn't even fix my issues.

wanna bet? i and many others are getting new phones
So how many others are getting new phones, because if that is the case, then someone in the android community will get wind of it and it will be all over the Web, and if that happens, it will mean everyone who owns a Verizon S3 should be receiving a new S3, if you and a few others are getting new phones do to a glitch in a software update, then that means that Verizon is doing an exception and disservice to the rest of the S3 owners. If what you are saying is true this would be a nightmare for Verizon, which we all know that is not the case, because you and a few others got the best of some lame tech rep, and they decided to get you off the phone by sending you a refurbished S3, does not mean the new S3 software update has destroyed millions of phones, it's not hardware related, is a software glitch which is fixable via software update.
hey i pay for cell service so if im not getting the service i paid for then its verizons job to fix the problem.
all im saying is i did everything they told me to do and it didnt fix the problem and ive seen others post saying theirs is getting replaced also. what verizon is gonna do about all other phones? no idea. i just know what they did for me and others
Over the last few days I have also noticed that mobile data is being hit hard and that is despite being on WiFi 90% of the time.
I usually use less than 1GB of mobile data per month. In the last few days since the update I'm at over 1.45GB. I was at 120MB prior to the update.
No apps have been added and several I removed. This is nuts people who are not paying attention will be getting hit with overages that they didn't actually use.
The verizon rep at my local store new nothing of any issues and she tried to talk about how great the update is. She's usually knowledgeable and quick to help.
Definitely a mess I hope that they fix this ASAP.
