So with the promise of a better phone through 2.2, I took the plunge and rooted my phone today... to be short my issues are:

    1. Google maps wont update. (says I need to manually update?) How do I go about doing that if the market wont update it?

    2. I tried to install Chrome2phone but the phone side app wont register device... after some research I seem to have rooted with the not-so-current version of froyo... as that seems to be everyones answer as to why it wont register.

2.a. so in order to update my froyo release do I need to revert to version
2.0.1 and start from ground zero or can I just somehow update?

subset: Where is the best place to stay current on new rom releases and froyo versions?

    Thanks in advance.

I have both those programs/apps so I just need to put the zip for froyo on my sd root and then run clockwork and have it boot the new zip? that simple? no need to re-kernel for my overclock or any of that?

    sorry for the noob questions.

also... looking into that zip folder from your link. I have 5 imgs to choose from:

    boot.img
    cache.img
    data.img
    nandroid.md5
    recovery .img
    system.img

which goes into the nandroid folder on sd?
    the md5?
or am i putting that root folder with all that stuff in to nandroid?

Ya put the folder with all the stuff inside of it in the nandroid folder. And I don't remember if u have to redownload apps before. Also make a backup just to be safe. But I don't think u have to redownload them
