issue with sorting contacts

I use these settings for my contacts: Sort-contact-list = Last Name, and View-contact-name as "Last Name first". This works fine under People view, but when I choose Groups-Member-View, it's messed up - it shows last name first, but then is SORTED by the first names! I can't find any separate settings under this view, the only choices here relate to editing groups, not how the contacts are viewed. Anyone else have this problem, and found a solution? Thanks.
