I have some "geeky" friends who love their android phones. But more of my friends whom I convinced to switch to android went back to the iphone, sigh...

Survey says Android owners secretly suffer iPhone-envy

"Android owners are four times more likely to covet an iPhone than vice
versa. Specifically, a third of Android owners polled admitted to suffering
severe iPhone-envy, whilst just seven per cent of iPhone users said that
    they’d prefer an Android-powered smartphone."

Not true for me. I like my app drawer, but I prefer having it as a drawer and not the entirety of the OS. :)

Not true for me either. I don't have any app icons on my home screen and I like the customization that the OS offers. Then again, I'm a tweaker anyways and rarely leave things alone if I know ho to mod them.

Not for me. I don't like apple at all, so iphone just isn't even on my radar.

I have an iPod Touch, which is pretty close to the iPhone, and I easily would be the Android OS. There is just so much more to do it on that on an iPhone. Droid > iPhone

I had a cingular 8125 and hated it. Went to a razor to give the smartphones a chance to improve.then jumped on the iphone wagon.

Was never happy from day one.

    I came from an iphone...

    I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Now with my DX... I was happy with it since I brought it home

Count me in. I originally wanted an iphone when they first came out but after seeing how stagnated the os is seeing how much has changed with android I can safely say I made the right decision.

Never owned one, but I've messed with a few. No thanks. I phone Buddy after jailbreaking: " sweet! look at all the stuff I can customise now! wait.... I thought jail breaking was supposed to make it better?! this things even slower! dude.... Trade? please?" lol.

a little off topic, but what kept you from switching to another smartphone?

I mean 3 and you hate it with a passion, would've thought you learned by the 2nd iphone...

Well I can see it being at least true to some extent. All the comparisons I read before getting the D1 (yes, I thought I wanted an iPhone) included that the iPhone was "dummied" down for your first time smart phone user. That it was that easier to use as a newbie.
So it stands to reason that that many people not previously educated in the use of the android phone, or can't quite handle the OS, will probably go back.

Nope. Even if/when iphone goes to vzw, I would still get an android phone.

Android smartphones have power, aesthetics, variety, functionality and jam-packed updates along with an open and innovative platform and an active community. Rooting breaks the limits of Android.

The iPhone 4 has aesthetics and some power along with somewhat minor updates, an App Store and an active community. Jailbreaking...is like breaking out of Alcatraz; you're out of jail but you can't get off the island.

    'Nuff said.
