As the title says, do droid phones have something similar to a recycle bin?

The reason I ask is because I had a strange experience the other day.
My phone gave me a message saying my storage was running low.
Understandable, after all it's only 1 gig.
The thing is though, I went about uninstalling apps I had no use for anymore such as Angry Birds. The strange thing is, after uninstalling I was losing space rather than gaining it!

Some of the apps may have been moved to sd card and I overlooked it, but that still doesn't explain me losing space after uninstalling....unless there is such a thing as a recycle bin.
It is the only logical conclusion I can come to.

To be clear, the notification was about low space. When tapped it brings me to "manage applications".
In there I can see the amount of free space in the bottom right corner. It was 43 Mb.
I select an app and clear data/uninstall, which then brings me back to the app list.
I now have less free space!

Anyone else ever had a similarr experience?

There is no "recycle bin" try rebooting after deleting the apps. If you haven't rebooted in a while your cache is probably getting pretty large as well, rebooting clears the cache. Hope that helps.

That was my guess too, and so I did reboot.
Didn't give me any space back though.
Right now I have 150mb of free space and I moved the bulk of my apps to SD.
The apps that remain really don't look like they add up to 850mb though.
I'm guessing the system takes up quite some space but how much?
I mean last I checked the cm7 install zip was around 250. So unless when unpacked it increases in size it looks like I have a lot of space unaccounted for.

I don't know, I'm just trying to figure out if there is anything else I can do to regain some space.
