Is there any reason NOT to update when the OTA becomes available?

Just wondering if there is anything taken away....like ability to root or something. I've noticed that apple is notorious for locking things down during updates which is why i never do unless i really need something. I do want to update my Bionic though to help with the bugs...just wondering about any possible negatives.

also....when i checked for update on my phone it said that "check for update is not available at this time" rather than telling me im up to date....hopefully it will happen soon!

I've gotten that announcement too, but mainly if I lose my data connection. When it comes back it says I'm up to date.

You might lose root, but there are people who'll probably fix that. If you're stock, it's going to be mandatory. You can press "Later" it'll remind you in an hour. See http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=51973 for what to expect.
