Is there a way to turn off app. notification sounds, but keep all others?

I keep my phone(Droid Razr) next to my bed so I can hear any texts or calls I receive, but I do not want to be awakened by droid telling me that it has installed the latest updates on my applications. Please tell me how to turn off application update notifications but keep all other notification sounds. Thank you!
