So im guessing that the DROIDX bootloader is never going to be unlocked. :/ Unless there's news otherwise?

following alias's twitter it seems he may be making a little more progress but it involved things such as soldering that most people would probably ruin their phones doing. I think he's looking into more hardware hacks vs actually bypassing the bootloader

i'm hoping one day when the phone is old enough, Moto unlocks the bootloader and lets us F with the phone, but by then, it'll be too late for anyone to care. (Me thinks its their plan all along).

You guessed correctly. Only way it'll be unlocked is if they give us the keys.

By the time it ever gets cracked, the DROID X will be like an 80's cell phone.

That's a shame. It's a great phone, and still is!

More like two cans with a string. The bootloader will never be unlocked.

It's not unlocked. You think everybody would be complaining about it being locked if it wasn't actually locked? Lol funny.

Well sry for not knowing, so what's the point of having a unlocked bootloader? So ppl can port other OS's? I'm not new to hacking but I don't know much about the bootloader.

So people can put custom roms with different kernels on their devices.
