I switched to the P3 kernel on my droid and is seems to run cooler than Chevy's kernel. BTW, SS 4.7 is amazing, it's a great rom, one of the best. I actually like it better than all the others (UD, BB, Koush).

Different kernels work better for different phones. Its more the phone than the ROM sometimes. On my first D1 chevy's kernels always worked best no matter what ROM I ran, on my current refurb p3's work better.

That is a accurate answer and who better to hear it from than someone who has used two different D1 phones and is in a position to make that kind of call, no pun intended.

Sad thing is my old phone could handle up to 1200mhz no problem. Refurb, noting over 1000mhz. So really mileage may very depending on a lot of factors.

Seems that the only Chevy kernel I can run is the one that's included with the 4.7 ROM. Any higher speed (reguardless of voltage) causes adverse reactions ie. boot loops, random reboots, freezes, higher than normal cpu and battery temps and force closes. Been running P3's LV 125-12000 (#122) with 4.7 for a week or so and none of the above problems have occured.

Chevys ulv 1.25 has been solid for me forever, bb 0.4 for awhile, then UD, now chevys ss 4.7 and the ulv 1.25 has been perfect through every rom. Simply Stunning has been great!

P3's kernels never worked too well for me, so I used Chevy's lv kernels - until I discovered Slayher's kernels - probably never going to run anyone else's kernels again. Slayher's 1100 kernel completely outperforms any 1200 or 1250 kernel by anyone else that I've used.
