There is ad appears on the bottom of the screen of my Eris, see attachments. I've been trying to remove it by factory reset in the privacy setting. Wiping data and reinstalling new ROM couldn't get rid of it. It's driving me nut for few days. Can someone help me to get rid of it. I greatly appreciate.

I will suggest installing 'Lookout' from the market. It is a app which will check for all sort of malware and spyware and if you do not want to go Pro it is free. I have very good reviews of the app and use it myself so believe in it...
    Best of luck

Then probably you do not have one. It might be just some ads coming which happens a lot with apps that you download from the market and also depends on the ROM.

Just chill and enjoy your android....

Until very recently, Lookout didn't even detect EICAR.

Has anyone here have Lookout successfully detect and quarantine a virus/malware on their phone?

I believed the Advanced Task Killer and Live Scores don't have ads. I installed those 2 apps on my wife Droid 1 and I don't see any ad at all

I have lookout on my rooted droid1, I was on the internet and was downloading am app from a website, after I got off the site and went to my notifications to allow the install look out came on over it and said that this app has been detected as having suspicious activity in it then it asked if I really wanted to continue to dwnld. So I didn't dwnld it of course. Went to another site andy got my app from there and dwnlded it with no issues. I think it works fine for me.

If your wifes phone is rooted on a custom ROM, ads would be blocked.
Both ATK and Live Scores are ad supported. This is from androidzoom:
    Live Scores - Android

BTW, ATK is probably doing as much harm as it helps.

And you can remove both the Task Killer and the Anti-Virus...
All your doing is wasting power.
