Caterpillar, best known for their construction vehicles has released a new 'rugged' phone. Supposedly it can withstand dirt, drops and whatever other damage you can try on it. The specs are not high end, but people in the business of abusing their phones :p may want to check it out. It's called the Cat B15, and it will retail for $349.99 unsubsidized (without a contract). Here are some additional details on the device:

The Cat B15 works on GSM networks around the world, including AT&T and T-Mobile in the US. The device is protected by an aluminum and shock absorbent rubber shell, giving it the IP67 rating. Specifications include:
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • MediaTek MT6577 Dual 1GHz Cortex(TM)-A9
  • Wireless bands: Quad-band GSM and Tri-Band 3G (no T-Mobile 1700 MHz)
  • 4 inch WVGA display with Gorilla glass
  • 4GB internal storage and 1GB RAM with microSD expansion support
  • 5 megapixel camera and VGA front facing camera
  • Dimensions of 149.95 x 125 x 69.5mm and 170 grams

I do like the industrial look of it. Looks like a tank :) Throw some better specs on it and I'd buy it

That's pretty smart, I bet a lot of construction workers and the like could really take to a phone like this.

Too bad it's pretty ancient spec wise.

This Looks to be the nicest smartphone released by a company that isn't into the cellular market. I believe it was Porsche who came out with an awful smartphone as well as another company.

From the pics, it looks like you can stand this phone up vertically without a dock...
