Is flashing a DroidX2 basically same as when I flashed android tablet?

So forgive me if this is a dumb question.

But I just got a X2. Was thinking of flashing to different rom.

I have a android tablet that I have flashed to a vegan rom and saw a good improvement in that. Is flashing a phone basically the same thing?
Does it affect your ability to make calls or texts?

I know it will allow certain tehering apps to work etc..
Just want to be certain of what it will do before I commit time to start researching roms and how to guides

i can't really comment on the similarity of the process but it is probably very similar. if the rom is made well then it shouldn't affect your ability to make cally or texts. however seeing as the phone was only released today, there are no roms available for it yet.

I figured Id wait to flash anyways. AS even if DX roms worked on it id rather wait for roms that utilize its increased power.

But like my tablet flashing, spent some time researching it and will do the same for this job.

exactly. hopefully some developers have picked/will pick up an x2 and start development.

Does the X2 even have Clockwork recovery yet? How would you flash it, let alone there aren't any Roms out to flash for it. Kinda jumping the gun a little, huh?
