Anyone else have this problem? Is it even AdFree?

It seems like certain websites are just painfully slow. Like im on an AOL 56k baud connection.

Wiki is fine.. initially Google searches will work well.

    Example:

I found a pill on the ground, typed in

M 25 Pill on Google search... clicked the first result and managed to boot my Mac and look it manually and the phone had never fully loaded the site..

    Is AdFree to blame?

I've *228 and updated roaming towers, etc. Nothing. Occurs with WiFi enabled and disabled. Refreshing doesn't seem to do much. Using Dolphin Browser, problem occurs with regular browser as well.

Had this problem awhile. Any one else experiencing this or have similar issues?

    2.1 (Bugless Beast 0.7.8) 1.1Ghz
    Kernel is evilboot1100.img (I believe)

If any other information is needed please let me know.

    PLEASE HELP!

I doubt AdFree would cause the slow down, because from what I understand, it stops the ad from loading. How many bars are you getting on your signal indicator?

Well Adfree has to search to find out what is an ad and what is not... (literally scan the whole page) so of course it could be buggy and I'd bet anything it was the cause of this.

I would say it would slow down surfing somewhat...It's like using a proxy.

Adfree does NOT scan web page for anything. It does NOT work like a proxy. It does NOT filter anything.

Adfree uses something called a hostfile to remap DNS names of ad servers to an IP address that is inaccessible. The default is 127.0.0.1 which is the identity IP address... I.e. your phone. The only way it would slow you phone down is if you've installwd something with a webserver on your phone.

imo ad free isnt really worth it because with my most important app, pandora, it takes a couple of minutes to boot instead of seconds without adfree

Whatever the reason, reverting in AdFree made my 3G bareable.
