who is the sister forum? I have seen it mentioned a couple of times. anyway, a hardware defect is not good. normally it cannot be fixed with software updates.

This has always been an issue with iPhones & iPads... at least from what I've read on the various drone forums the past couple years. Both iPhones and iPads have been the preferred device to use for many drone operators over the past 4-5 years, simply due to the fact that the app is a bit more stable then the corresponding Android app. (at least with regards to DJI manufacturer drones)
It's been well documented that devices as far back as the iPhone 5/5S (and up) are known to regularly shut down within minutes of being used while outside in temps below 30 degrees, and above 98 degrees.

I imagine that one of the reasons it shuts down much more quickly while being used to operate a drone, is because it's not being held in your hands where it's much warmer, but is attached to a phone holder on your rc controller, which is much more exposed to the elements.
That said, those of us who are Android fans have never had a problem using our devices for extended periods of time, especially while in sub zero temperatures, and only occasional reports of certain Android models shutting down due to heat. Typically reported from operators who live in Arizona/New Mexico, etc where they regularly see summertime temps well into the triple digits.

I would say that I'm surprised this is still an issue for Apple.... but ya know.... [IMG][IMG]

Maybe android need to have that temperature feature in more phones. we are not allow phones where I work and several coworkers have bricked their phones due to heat from leaving them in their cars.

Interesting discussion on our sister forum that I think is worth pointing out.

The reason is because as the honeymoon period of the iPhone X wears down people are asking some good questions. And this one about buyer's remorse for the iPhone X to me would be similar to asking if a mistake was made buying the 2XL vs the pixel XL in our world.

This is not to bash the iPhone X or take away from what Apple did by changing it up. But it do bring up that newer is not always better for everyone.

Have I made a big mistake getting the iPhone X?

What if the iPhone 8 Plus is better than the iPhone X?

I think there is always a little buyers remorse no matter the phone. I had some with the note 8 but only because I upgraded from a perfectly good phone that could have met my needs for a couple more years.

I think the same is with the IphoneX. between the high price and few new features, apple users are finally asking themselves why??? That is something apple users had not done in years. the question is, will this affect the next years phone release?
