I left a comment on MBs channel in the hopes that he'll to a comparison between the new iPhone X & Note 8/S8+ to see which device opens the phone quicker with face unlock. I only know the speed from the X through videos like his, but the face unlock for our S8+ & Note 8 is lightning fast & super accurate, so it'll be an interesting test.
That being said, it's one of the features I'm not a fan of when it comes to Apples new flagship.... the fact that it's your only real option to unlock your device. Otherwise you have to FORCE a passcode unlock by holding down the volume up/down button AND the side button at the same time for 2 seconds or manually shut down the device. They should have at least left the options to unlock via pattern, password or pin if they wanted to remove the fingerprint option altogether.
It's just one more thing Apple forces upon its customers. But hey, maybe I'm making to much of it.

forcing users to use the face id sounds like a way to get face scans of their users and eventually selling it and adding it to the big database of all users online and other activities. conspiracy???

I thought the exact same thing, but I didn't want it to seem like I was dogging on the new iPhone, so thanks for mentioning it. lol!
Plus, it's not like "they" don't already know everything about us anyways.

Using it in person I'm still impressed. As far as face unlock there are many reviews of it and it still can be finicky if the lighting or distance is a little off.

And like bk just said you still have the pin unlock.

If you're a hardcore Android fan who will not even give Apple even a half a look, to be honest this phone is not going to be for you. Just like the pixel 2 and 2XL or Note 8 is not going to be for the hardcore iPhone guy.

But if you love the Apple ecosystem and wanted something outside of the box from Apple, then the X is what you're getting and it is a pretty decent phone for sure.

Flossy Carter's iPhone X unboxing video I think hits the nail on the head on who the phone is for.

Good to know, I searched a few places but nobody mentioned you having that option. Thanks for the clarification.

I spent a good amount of time with this phone over the weekend.. as usual build quality is solid.. feel in hand while having a smaller phone with good real estate.. even apps not optimized to use whole screen you still get similar to current Plus phone.. Face ID we shall see once I get one daily..

A friend got the iPhone x and he says the colors on the oled screen look off just like the same issue with the pixel 2 xl oled screen. What is it about the new oled tecnology screens that they can't make the colors the way people want or expect them.

I was reading an article about this yesterday. it was supposed to help stop the burn-in issues. I will try to find that source and post it.

I didn't find the colors to be off at all.. If you do turn on true tone the colors change depending on lighting and environment.. I noticed it right away when I toggled it on.. Maybe I'm used to it but my Pixel screen looks great to me...
