Apple makes 64 percent gross margin on iPhone X sales | Pocketnow

I know I said I would only make one iPhone X thread, but given the nature of the response I'm expecting from the Android fans with this story, I wanted to allow room for a discussion.

By the way thank you Android fans for being civilized in the other iPhone X thread, you guys have really stepped up keeping the peace.

    This one's for you .

In all seriousness I'm curious to see the margin for the Pixel 2 XL and Note 8. Because there is no reason why these phones should be going for a grand.

as long as people pay it, they will sell it that high. what can we do since most of us always want the best and the latest. I never did hear what the profit margin was on the note 8, but based on the free stuff we have been getting from samsung, it must be about the same as apple, if not more.

This is no different than past iPhones.. margin has always been there and market sales dictate what you can charge.. first batch is sold out with pre-orders shipping in 3 weeks.. I didn't hesitate myself to pick up a Pixel 2 XL that came out over $1000.. IPhone X comes in at $1250 for the 256GB model.. There is a market for both high and mid priced range phones.. You factor in deals from carriers and other places peeps jump on board

I ran across another article that mentioned "iPhone X Component Costs Estimated at $357.50". That mark up in the phone is crazy, however think about the amount of R&D that has to go into each new model.

I think that's another good reason to own Apple stock though. It's been my single best investment since I was introduced to the stock market.
