The iPhone is still a great device. Its all about preference and what you'll be using your phone for. While personally I wouldn't trade my Droid 2 for any phone on the market, there's no doubt the iPhone is a good phone. If it weren't, it wouldn't be so popular.

glad to see some courtesy going on here.

in essence, our phone choice is no different than what we own for cars.

there's all types of factors, i.e. price, style, performance, availability, etc. etc.
It comes down to what you want. We all drive different cars and can get along, there's no reason we can't own different phones and get along.

So you need to root your D1 in order to make it as responsive as the iPhone? Odd...hahaa...

Never said you had to be rooted. OP said it would take him 5 min to get to home screen while being rooted. I just made a reccomendation to help solve that problem.

When I was stock don't remeber it not being as smooth as the iPhone, but I do remember it taking a little while to load flash videos.
    Haha.....haha.....ha.

Thanks for adding to my post though.

I might toy with the idea of picking up the iPhone, i'd keep my D1 and have the best of both worlds. They SHOULD use the same data plan, so I should be able to do an online swap between them as the mood suits me. Then, I could sell my iPod Touch. I've got a heavy investement in both iOS apps AND Android apps, so it would be cool to have both devices.

Too bad it costs so much to run 2 devices at the same time, or i'd keep them BOTH active.
