Looking in my Fortune mag that came in, November issue on page 129 clearly states "a Verizon iPhone will be released in early 2011"

Nothing new really, we all knew already.

Good for all the iphone lovers on ATT that hate their network for me though I'll stay with the Android platform. I don't like the idea of HAVING to have itunes loaded on my pc/laptop to use my phone. I don't need a pc/laptop at all for anything to use my phone.

Why is this? I would love to see it because its only going to encourage other manufacturers to step up their game to try and keep up.

plus one trillion, people can't look outside their blind hatred of apple to see the plus side to this deal, if and when it happens. Even with the iPhone on At&t it still helps VZW android sales. This is only good news for the consumer. iPhone users and android users alike should see some great hardware and software battles.

This rumor comes around EVERY year.

The contract is a 5 year deal signed in '07.

    7+5 = 12

The contract is up in 2012. Thats a fact : )

Very true CK!! I guess time will tell. One thing I've noticed is all of the hype that it will be a 4G model. Working for VZW, I know for a FACT that there will be no 4G phones available in January, just the wireless modems!

yeah i know its always going to come around but not to discredit you in any way i doubt the contract was signed in 2007.... the iphone came out in january of 2007. There is no way apple is going to design, develop, test, and implement a device for a specific network without a previous existing contract. My bet is the contract was signed sometime in 2005 to allow 2 years for development and whatnot.

From what i understand and now keep in mine this is all coming from the rumor mill is that we should expect to see LTE phones sometime in the 1st quarter of 2011.

    I doubt it was 2005.
apple: "Listen we have this amazing phone idea, no specs or anything, but we want to sign a 5 year contract with you."
    at&t: "OK, done"
I don't think so. Most companies would want something more definate then an idea in someone's brain before signing any contract. And wouldn't sign a contract without actual evidence this would work. How many people in 2005 thought of a "smart" phone.

Maybe the contract was signed in 2006. If there was some demo. Or the phone was done. And the contract probably woudn't start until the phone was relased. January of 2007.
So the end of 2011 contract ends.
    So the VerizoniPhone in 2012.

If Verizon or Apple says otherwise, I will eat my words and an Apple.

To add: I don't really hate Apple. When the rumors were floating about a Verizon iPhone, I suggested it to a coworker. She likes her iPod and iTunes.
And to add: I wouldn't get an iPhone. I don't like apple's policies or iTunes. Plus I've loving my Droid1.
