I am a new smart phone user I have a Droid 3 I have some technical knowledge but none on the OS of the droid would love to root my phone but have nightmares about the awful brick issue lol

ALOHA welcome. the best advice I can give u is...read and read more.Lol...its scary yes it is but just do some research on what rooting is, what it does, and always make sure u have a back up. head over to the D3 section for more info ... enjoy ur stay

Welcome to DroidForums!! Great advice you got there, just read and read. And make sure to not only read up on root but also what to do if something does go wrong. It is so much easier to do it before you have a problem then during.
