BLU Studio 5.0C HD--Kk 4.4.2--Custom build version...BLU_D535U_VO3_Generic. On this phone, it says it's connected to the internet, however, most of the time it will not open/sustain a browser or web page. When it does finally 'connect" to the web, rarely does the "connection" last more than a minute(if even that long). Oh, and even to get it to connect, I have to activate "airplane mode". Something's really screwed and I need to get the internet for obvious reasons. Any ideas?

You say "Custom build version". How custom/ized is the build? Does this happen on stock builds?

Reason I ask is because some custom builds have bugs like you're describing. Especially with having to toggle airplane mode to get a connection.

Thanks for your reply. I agree any "custom build" is taking your chances. OK, I believe(?) this is from BLU (phone manufacturer), but I'm not certain. I have ascertained they have a D534U and D536U...I did find one phone like mine (same model,make..etc) and it did have the same D535U "custom build". That's all I can say. I am all but certain this O.S. is corrupted. To do an upgrade, I'll have to use the comp. for I tired the O.T.A and it "failed". I've been told, a battery "going bad" or dying will cause some of the symptoms this phone displays, but I've also been told a battery cannot do that??? LOL Alright, let's concentrate on getting an O.S. upgrade. Know of a good, self-explanatory tutorial? It must be one that uses a comp. to implement the upgrade. Have watched a few, but must say, one I watched seemed far too complicated. I'm somewhat a nube to phones, but have a good deal of experience with PC/laptops. I know...not the same. I found a BLU upgrade to Mm. Now, have to D/l it and get it onto a comp, then implement the upgrade process. Still...looking for answers. And I concur, having to activate "airplane mode" to get WiFi is totally f^%$#@ and until this, something I'd never heard of.

My apology....try this one www.ineedrom.com/blu-studio-5-0-c-hd-d535u-rom-stock-firmware/. Look back in this thread and you'll see specs of my phone. Actually, BLU does have an update to Mm, but having trouble D/ling it. I've found a few "tutorials" to install any other O.S....but there's a few problems I need to work through/out before I can.

NO... Right now the phones stuck in "bootloop" once again which prevents doing anything with it. And, twice now, on it's own, it has tried to 'update" via O.T.A. and failed..which then sends it back into bootloop. Just can win!!! I want/need to get the WiFi fixed...but I need to know what's wrong with it before I can. I'm going to try an update via the comp as soon as I can get all the files together. On that note, been looking at a lot of confusing, conflicting reports/tutorials on just how to accomplish that. DAMN....this is getting to be more trouble than, maybe, the phones worth?

I would use fastboot for something like this. All you need is the files

    Re: EVERYONE

Wish to THANK all who've replied and tried to help. I must now close this thread for I no longer have the phone. IT decided to join it's brethren and took a dive into the toilet. Oh, well....
