Interesting rumor / information - Google Phone Rumors Continue to Gain Steam - Mac Rumors . When Google comes out with their phone, which almost certainly will have the latest & greatest Android release, I wonder what the impact will be? If Google isn't careful, they're going to setup a very difficult situation for their OEM's, such as Motorola, HTC, etc. Competing with OEM's has never been a popular strategy in high tech and I wonder how Google is going to juggle this...

They will be just another provider to the telcos. They will work with HTC, Moto, Samsung or whomever to actually make the phone.

In theory, but in reality they have the inside track on the development of the operating system and can build in specifics features into the phone hardware that can support upcoming features. This is why the iPhone works so well but also why Apple would make a terrible OEM partner (as they've stated many times...).

What ever *****en thing they include will probably be borked by the damn carrier anyway. They love to cripple phones and squeeze our nuts. LOL
