The past three ROMs that I've used - Cyanogenmod 6.1, UD 2.4/5, and now BB 6.1 - my battery has behaved very erratically. There has been a lack of consistency in drain times; for example, one day I talked on it for nearly 3 hours (total, not all at once) and the screen was on for nearly 2 hours, yet the battery was only at 40% when I got home. The previous day, I talked for 15 minutes and only listened to [locally stored] music, yet the battery was at 20% after less time.

On top of this, about 65% of the time, during discharge it will skip 30%. Once it hits 20 and I plug it back up it is back up to 50% or 60% in a matter of minutes.

I'm not certain whether this is a device problem or it's just time for a new battery. Thoughts, suggestions, comments?

When you flash a lot of roms you'll need to wipe battery stats occasionally.

seriously i've only seen this problem pop up on android 2.2. i've been a user since the G1.. this is really frustrating.

once i did a battery pull and it seemed to fix it, but it went right back down to 20% once i sent a text message. wtf?

its either a bad battery or you need to calibrate it again. did you install bb on a full charge or plugged in?

From my understanding you do have to let your phone completely die, there's a hardware aspect of it that can only be reset by doing that, wihich I did today actually, my battery had an x on it for about 3 hours, 1 of those being complete navigation use, overall latest bugless lasted about 16 hours mild - moderate use (2 1/2 hours navigation)

I deleted my battery stats this morning after a full night of charging. I took it off charge at 6:30 this morning - it's now 4:00 PM and I have 5% left. Should I expect this to get better over the next few discharge cycles?

Honestly, not very much. About 20 minutes of talk time, an hour with the display on, and roughly 2-3 hours of music. It's not typically this discharged before 4:00 PM and I generally use it quite a bit more.

I'm really starting to think I may need a new batter now.

What should it be on the standard battery?

It's 4018 mV @ 90%; sounds like it's in pretty good shape to me considering it's about a year old.

This is a replacement Droid that I've had for about 6 weeks or so. The very first thing that I did upon getting it was root and install CM 6.1 (RC 1 at the time) and the battery was great up until RC 4 and it's been like this ever since.

Is it possible that it could be a handset issue? I've tried different ROMs, different kernels, etc; something is definitely amiss.
